I carry on my being the vestiges of my journey, soul’s quest, 
armor for the pilgrim

Struggle and weariness have assaulted me, weighing down my resolve.
Yet, I twist upon the path of unyielding independence,
feigning strength beneath my heavy burdens.

Abide with me, Holy Spirit; remove the piety of my resolve.
Let me grieve for Your yoke.
Penetrate the armor of my striving
until Your peace
surpasses all my answers;
fills the cavities of the unknown in my heart.
